Laura Lewallen, MD, an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in pediatric orthopaedics. Dr. Lewallen joined the department as faculty in 2020 and took over the role of Clerkship Director of Medical Students Education in July 2022.
Jason A. Strelzow, MD, an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in hand surgery and orthopaedic trauma. Dr. Strelzow joined the department as faculty in 2017 and served as Associate Program Director from August 2019 to March 2023. Dr. Strelzow took over the role of Residency Program Director in April 2023.
Tessa Balach, MD, a professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in orthopaedic oncology and adult joint reconstruction. Dr. Balach, an alum of the Residency and Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship programs, returned to the department as faculty in 2016 and served as Residency Program Director from July 2018 to February 2023. Dr. Balach took over the role of Department Chair in March 2023.
