G. Jacob Wolf, MD, an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in hand surgery. Dr. Wolf joined the department as faculty in 2024 and took over the role of Director of Medical Student Education (orthopaedic surgery) in January 2026.
Tessa Balach, MD, a professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in orthopaedic oncology and adult joint reconstruction. Dr. Balach, an alum of the Residency and Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship programs, returned to the department as faculty in 2016 and has served as Residency Program Director since July 2018.
Nick Maassen, MD, an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Maassen joined the department as faculty in 2020, served as the Director of Medical Student Education (orthopaedic surgery) from 2025-2026, and took over the role of Associate Residency Program Director in January 2026.
Jennifer M. Wolf, MD, PhD, a professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in hand surgery. Dr. Wolf joined the department as faculty in 2016 and served as Program Director of the Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship from August 2016 to September 2024. Dr. Wolf was appointed Department Chair in October 2024.
